General: Are you open Christmas Day and New Years Day?
Yes, once we open for the season we are open every day until our tentative closing date.
General: What should I wear?
We recommend that you wear layers. First layer next to your skin should be something that wicks moisture. Next layer a fleece or sweater. Outside layer something that is wind and waterproof.
General: Do you rent goggles and gloves?
We do not rent goggles or gloves, but our Sports Shop has a wide selection of both for purchase.
General: Can we ride the chair up and back down?
Once we open for the ski season you must have equipment on to ride the chair. Walkers are allowed only during the fall.
General: When do half day lift tickets start/end?
AM Half Day: 9:00pm - 12:30pm, PM Half Day: 12:30pm - 4:00pm. (Spring Hours AM Half Day: 9:30pm - 1:00pm, PM Half Day: 1:00pm - 4:30pm)
General: Can I bring my own food?
Yes you can. We also have food available to purchase at both La Casa Lodge and Totemoff’s.
General: Is there WiFi available?
We have WiFi throughout La Casa Lodge.
General: Do I have to pay for parking?
Not at Ski Santa Fe!
General: Will it be snowing on Christmas Eve?
We sure hope so! We do not control the weather though.
General: Do you have sledding or tubing?
We do not have a sledding area at Ski Santa Fe.
General: How do I find bus information?
The Mountain Trail Bus to Ski Santa Fe runs every day, you can find the timetable on our Getting Here page.
General: What is your uphill policy?
We welcome Uphill Skiers and Snowboarders, please adhere to the Uphill Responsibility Code that can be found on our Tips & Safety page.
Season Passes: What is “Direct to Lift”?
Direct to lift means you go from your car to the chair lift. You do not have to stop and get a ticket of any kind.
Season Passes: What is a Millennium Pass?
A Millennium Pass allows you go direct to the lift for the month of January without stopping to get a discounted lift ticket. From opening until January 1 and February 1 until closing the Millennium Pass gives Peak Plus Card discounts.
Season Passes: How many times can I use my pass?
There is no limit on how many days a Season Pass/Peak Plus Card can be used.
Season Passes: My 12 year old will turn 13 on Dec. 2, what pass should I purchase for them?
We use our tentative opening date of Thanksgiving as the birthday cut off.
Season Passes: I turn 72 during the season, can I buy a Freedom Pass while they're cheaper?
If you will be skiing before your 72 birthday, it is advantageous to purchase a Peak Plus Card to receive the discount on a Senior day ticket. When you turn 72, the Peak Plus can be upgraded to a “Freedom Pass”.
Season Passes: If my 5 year old is under 46” do I need to purchase the “Freedom Pass”?
No you do not need to purchase a Freedom Pass. Should your 5 year old grow during the season and get taller than 46”in their ski/snowboard boots they will qualify to pay the daily child lift ticket rate.
Season Passes: Is there a Military Season Pass?
We offer to Active Duty and Retirees with ID, 15% off all our Season Pass/Discount Card Products. This discount can only be applied in person, not online.
Season Passes: What is the black out period on my Gold Pass?
The only black out period for the Gold Pass and the Bronze Pass is 12/26 through 12/31.
Season Passes: If I had a Peak Plus Card last year do I qualify for a Loyalty Gold Pass?
The purchase of any season pass/discount card product would qualify for the Loyalty Gold Pass.
Rentals: Do you have season long rentals?
We do not offer season long rentals, we do offer rentals for our Multi Day programs.
Rentals: Can we get our rental equipment the day before?
Yes. You can pick up your rental equipment the day before between 2pm and 3pm only.
Snow Sports School: What Time should I arrive?
We recommend arriving at the mountain as early as possible, Especially during Holidays. Allow yourself plenty of extra time for your drive if road conditions are not perfect.
Snow Sports School: Where should I go?
If you are renting equipment, start at the rental shop to get your equipment first. After you have your equipment, follow the signs to the Snow Sports Ticket office.
Snow Sports School: Do I need a reservation?
Group lessons are sold the day of on a first come first serve basis. Reservations are required for private lessons and chipmunk corner, but we can often accommodate the day of as well.
Snow Sports School: What should I wear?
We recommend wearing waterproof pants, waterproof gloves, appropriate layering for the conditions, eye protection, sunscreen, and long socks. Try to avoid cotton if possible.
Snow Sports School: What ages can take a group lesson?
The minimum age for group lessons at the adult Snow Sports School is 10. We can accommodate children 3 years and older in a private lesson. Chipmunk corner will accept ages 4 through 11.
Snow Sports School: What is the policy on tipping my instructor?
There is no Policy on tipping, however, if you feel your instructor has met or exceeded expectations, gratuity is accepted.
Snow Sports School: Can we all be in the same lesson?
In general, a whole family can take a lesson together, as long as the whole family is on the same type of equipment. However, it is often recommended to split lessons based on abilities and age.
Snow Sports School: How many people are in a group lesson?
On skis, Group lessons can range anywhere from 1 to 12 people. The average size being around 6. On a Snowboard, Group lessons can be anywhere from 1 to 8 people. The Average size being 5.
Snow Sports School: What if I'm the only one in my group lesson?
Generally this means you will receive one on one instruction for an hour per session.
Chipmunk Corner: Where do we get our child’s rental equipment?
Chipmunk Corner provides rental equipment for our students (if complete package is purchased).
Chipmunk Corner: What does my child need to bring/wear?
Dress warmly and in layers. Label everything. Waterproof gloves, jacket and pants. Eyewear - googles are best. Wear only one pair of warm socks. One pair of extra socks for wet/cold feet. sunscreen (below eyes only).
Chipmunk Corner: How can I prepare my child to have fun-filled day at Chipmunk Corner?
Children should be well-rested for a full day of effort. An extra day for acclimation to our elevation is best. Eat a substantial breakfast. Drink lots of water. Inform staff of any medical or special needs your child requires.
Chipmunk Corner: What is your process for setting up classes?
Classes are designed with your child’s age and skill level in mind. We reserve the right to move students accordingly.
Chipmunk Corner: What type of lunch/snacks are provided?
We are a nut-free facility, lunch options are peanut, dairy and gluten-free, other special diets may require parents send a lunch.
Chipmunk Corner: What happens if my child becomes ill or refuses to participate in the class?
Parents will be notified to pick-up child by paging system.
Chipmunk Corner: Will my child ride the chairlift with an adult?
Children may ride chairlifts with other children, adult guests or alone.
Chipmunk Corner: When might I get a refund?
If you cancel 48 hours before lesson - 100%. If you cancel within 48 hours of lesson 50%. No refunds are issued due to weather conditions unless road is officially closed. At our discretion due to child illness or unwillingness to participate a partial refund may be given.
Chipmunk Corner: Can I check-out my child to take a run at end of day?
Yes!!! Enjoy seeing your child’s progress, you may check-out up to 2:30pm. Child’s belongings must be taken at time of check-out and rentals need to be returned by 4:00pm to Chipmunk Corner. Rentals can be returned to the main rental shop after 4:00pm.
