To our loyal Pass Holders and valued guests,
When we said good bye to winter last spring we had no idea of the long-lasting changes that would affect our everyday life and the challenges that will would be felt for many months to come. Everything is different now; our kids are schooling from home, limits on gathering with our friends, significant impacts on our jobs, and even how we recreate has changed during this pandemic.
We have spent these past months observing the challenges our community’s businesses have faced, the constant state of unknown, open or closed, is this sustainable? In our months of planning for the coming winter we came up with one simple goal, We Want to Ride! Yes, that’s it, We Want to Ride!
While the goal was clear, it was also clear that many aspects of how we ski and ride were going be quite a bit different this season because of COVID-19. All of our team’s efforts have been focused on providing the best opportunity for us to ski and ride safely during this pandemic. We have been working with the other New Mexico ski areas, our National Ski Areas Association and our State Government to develop COVID Safe Practices (CSP’s) specifically for Ski Areas. We are hoping that a comprehensive set of required CSP’s approved by the Governor of New Mexico will create the opportunity for Ski Santa Fe to open this Thanksgiving and provide you with a comfortable and socially responsible environment to ski and ride in.
Although these CSP’s are not yet finalized, we have watched what is required of other businesses in New Mexico to open and we anticipate that Ski Santa Fe will need to operate at a reduced daily capacity. Barring a major negative change in our states COVID cases, we are hopeful that we will be able to host at least 50% of our normal daily guests. The key to controlling capacity will only be possible with advanced online booking and purchase of daily lift tickets and an entirely “new idea” for our local season pass holders.
After a lot of hard work and unique the challenges we are excited to introduce Ski Santa Fe’s answer to “We Want to Ride”, the OnePass! One unique season, one unique pass.
The OnePass will give you, our locals, the best opportunity to ski and ride during the 2020-2021 ski season and the unknown challenges that come with it. Our goal is to provide a pass that has a low up front cost, direct to lift access, and an inexpensive “pay as you go” daily activation fee that reserves your spot on the mountain. The online activation will allow us to manage the daily capacity in order to adhere to the anticipated COVID Safe Practices. The OnePass will provide you assurance in the event of a government shut-down you will receive proportional credit towards for the following 2021-2022 season. Please click here to see how the OnePass will get you back on the slopes for a perfect ski day. Check out the OnePass Max, no blackouts for more days on the mountain.
We have limited the number of OnePass and OnePass Max to further help with the capacity limitations that may be required to cope with COVID 19 this winter season. Our hope is that everyone who wants a OnePass will be able to purchase one. We know this is a big change from our normal pass program but we truly believe this is the only way to provide great skiing and riding on the mountain this winter.
The OnePass and OnePass Max and the Peak Plus Card will be the only pass products available this season. We anticipate the return to our normal season pass program for the 2021-2022 ski season.
Day tickets and ski school packages will be sold only online and will have a daily limit. This season we will offer 1, 2 and 3-day tickets which can be purchased in advance subject to a 48-hour non-refundable cancelation policy. Advanced sales and daily limits will allow you to head to the mountain confident that you have your slot for the day.
As you might expect, many of the other aspects of a great ski day may be different. No matter the changes and limitations, our staff is committed to providing the same great experience as we have in the past. Totemoff’s, Chipmunk Corner, La Casa Café, Ski Santa Fe Rental Shop, and the Sport Shop will likely be affected as we comply with the anticipated CSPs. Lift lines might be a bit more spaced, social distancing will be encouraged everywhere, but at the end of the day, We WILL Ride!
See you on the mountain,
Ben and Benny Abruzzo
and the entire Team at Ski Santa Fe
